When I received an email from Iris Ruisch ’the creative director' of Amsterdam Fashion Week I was overwhelmed.

Asking me to work on a project in collaboration with Gemeente Amsterdam to create a mini collection of three looks with five other designers.

The project was about up-cycling the leftover clothes from Kingsday. What surprised all of us was the fact that people throw away their clothes way to soon.

"Britt Breider’s womenswear collection is characterized by menswear tailoring translated into female shapes and silhouettes. Classical blue hues of men shirts are used just the way they are without any further processing. During the search of old clothes a lot of canvas belts were found, which are now used in traditional and untraditional ways.
The collection has a do-it-yourself way, which is also the purpose of it. To show that clothes can be up-cycled in an accessible way."
